Henry and Patricia are Ellerbe Woods homeowners who worked with JEB Design/Build on an outdoor kitchen and patio.
“I have no imagination, so the 3D was great. I knew what kind of space I wanted, but had no idea what it would look like until I saw the renderings. We also had a drainage issue, where water was building up and staining our brick. We tried power washing, gutters – everything, and still had mold on the brick, had water splashing up against the windows, it was ugly and dangerous.

The first big rainstorm after we built the outdoor kitchen, we went out and looked, and had a nice dry wall, so our main problem was solved.
Now I spend most of my time out there, it’s my favorite room. It’s great for cooking and hanging out with the grand kids. Our son in law makes gumbo out on the gas burner.
Our favorite feature is the floor – it’s beautiful alternating sizes of travertine tile with a little tooth to it, so it’s not slippery. It’s easy to clean and the design is great. There’s plenty of countertop and storage space, so cooking out there is a treat.”
